Psychic Chasm

RATING:

A balmy mix of psychedelic pop and alt-electronica, Psychic Chasm is a big deal. The debut album from producer Alan Palomo has been heavily anticipated ever since a couple of early singles – Deadbeat Summer, Terminally Chill – found their way online and sent bloggers looking for new superlatives. Turns out the hype was totally justified; Psychic Chasm's mix of hazy dream-pop, distorted vocals and ‘chillwave’ attitude is the ideal soundtrack to summer. It’s BMX bikes, half-melted ice creams and lazy afternoons with friends re-imagined as a 12-track LP. It’s also an early contender for album of the year. Mikolai Napieralski
